Haul UPDATE – What Worked and What Didn’t – HUGE Makeup and Beauty Haul June 2017

I'm here with another Haul Update post from my HUGE Makeup and Beauty Haul that I posted in June! This is super late going up, and I had every intention of posting this weeks ago, so I'm so sorry that this is late! I've been using all of these products for a while, and I'm back to let you know what worked and what didn't as well as tell you what was worth the money or not. Let's get into all of the items!

Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser

This stuff has been awesome for taking my makeup off! I love that I don't have to pull at my skin with this product, and it leaves my skin feeling SO moisturized after I rinse it off. I found this works best with wet skin and a dry washcloth (I tried dry skin and a wet washcloth and it wasn't as easy) but this is the best after I've been in the shower and my mascara has softened a little bit. There's a reason this is a classic product, and it really does work well to take makeup off.

OGX Coconut Oil Hydrating Oil Mist

I ended up chopping off 9 inches of hair right after I bought this, so I really haven't used it much!

Physicians Formula Butter Blush

Since this haul is so huge and there's so many products to go over, I'm going to save some time by sending you over to my Physicians Formula Butter Blush Review to hear how this blush worked for me! (Spoiler, I like it.)

Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment

This lip oil has been a GAME CHANGER and I can't believe no one is talking about this! I love this stuff to death and it has such an awesome scent. I like to put this all over my lips before bed and let it sink in while I sleep. I would totally repurchase this, and I love love love it as a lip treatment.

Milani Lipstick "Matte Naked"

I love this lipstick! Everything from the formula to the natural look it gives my lips is so beautiful!

ELF Glitter Primer

This is another product that I haven't had a chance to play around with too much. Overall, I like it a lot more than my Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer, so I guess that's saying something.

ELF Baked Highlighter

This is such a beautiful highlighter! I've been having a hard time putting it down to be honest. I love the glow and shimmer that this gives my cheeks, and the color is perfect on my skintone as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this, especially for the $4 that this will set you back.

Maybelline City Mini Palette "Rooftop Bronzes"

This palette is CRAZY good quality! I love all of the gorgeous shimmers and it's such a beautiful neutral palette. I've been thinking about depotting this into my ZPalette if possible to have the shades side by side with some mattes, but for now I've been loving to pull this in with other palettes.

Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment

You guys already know I love this stuff and have been using it for years. Moving on!

Simple Cleansing Wipes

These are my favorite makeup remover wipes! This was a repurchase for me, and I'm not planning on trying out any different makeup wipes for a while. If you find something that works, why switch to something different?

Caress Body Wash "Pure Embrace" and "Evenly Gorgeous"

I have no complaints about these body washes! They do the job and leave my skin feeling clean.

Essie Quick Drying Drops

I've honestly had a hard time with these quick drying drops. While they do dry your nails immediately, they leave a bunch of oil running all over your nails and hands. I haven't been able to really make this work well for me yet.

ELF Summer Lip Trio Freebie

I haven't actually worn the lipsticks yet, but I really like the lip scrub!

ELF Nourishing Oil to Foam Cleanser

I did a whole review on this product, but long story short I absolutely hated it.

ELF Hydrating Water Essence

I haven't gotten a ton of use out of this, but I can say that I love the scent and I think that it's very light weight on my skin.

Simply Summer's Eve Foaming Wash and Cleansing Cloths

I'm not going to get too TMI on you here, but I really love these products. They clean really well and smell great.

Wet n Wild Contour Brush

This brush is crazy soft! I've been using a little ELF brush from their $1 line for blush, and I didn't even realize how scratchy it was until I used it side by side with this $1 Wet n Wild brush! This is the perfect shape for blush, and I can't believe that it's so cheap! I've been using this every day since I bought it, and I can't get enough!

Wet n Wild Smoky Eyeliner Brush

I love this brush for my ColourPop Super Shock shadows and I think this would be awesome with any other cream shadows. I think this is a total steal for $1!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my updated thoughts on all of the haul items! I absolutely love this type of post, and I think it's so interesting to hear whether something is actually good or not as opposed to just seeing a bunch of new items in a haul. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I'll see you soon!

Products I’ve Used Up – July Empties!

Welcome back to another month of empties! This month is super short, so let's go ahead and get right into the products!

Skin & Co Truffle Toner

I really enjoyed this toner! I don't know if I would purchase the full size, but it was nice enough.

Old Spice Bearglove Deodorant

Although this might seem like a weird empty to have, I really liked this Deodorant. This smells very fruity and not like a man at all, and it works so much better than any other deodorant I've ever tried! I love the Old Spice deodorants, and I have no intentions of switching back to women's anytime soon.

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Deep Conditioner

This has taken me since Christmas to finish up (mostly because I didn't really love it). I found that this really weighed down my hair and made it oily really fast if I used this root to tip, so I started to use it just on the ends of my hair. But I found that it honestly didn't do much for me as far as adding extra moisture to my hair. I wouldn't repurchase.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

I've already repurchased this concealer, and I love this under the eyes so much! You guys already know that this is my holy grail, so I'm not going to get into it.

Fresh Sparkling Snow Body Cream

I finally finished up this huge bottle of lotion! This was one of my Products to Use Up in 2017 items, and I'm so happy that I finally got it done. I bought this around Christmas time in 2015, so it was definitely getting old and needed to be used up.

ELF Foil Packet

I used up the last of these samples, and there was really a lot of product in these. I wouldn't buy either of them because I don't really have a use for them.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I finished yet another can of my Dry Shampoo. I really like the Batiste brand, and I like pretty much every single scent they make.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my short and sweet empties this month! I've been working on a lot of full size products, so hopefully next month will be longer! Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you next time!

ELF Nourishing Oil to Foam Cleanser Review

I’ve got a quick review on the ELF Oil to Foam cleanser today, and I’m really excited to fill you guys in on it because I actually really really REALLY don’t like this product.

I ordered this on ELF’s website, and the whole experience was honestly not very great. All of my products were just rolling around in a brown cardboard box with my crinkled sales receipt thrown on top. I wish they would add some bubble wrap or some packing peanuts or something to keep everything in the box, and I really wish that they would have added in a little card or pamphlet to give it a more personalized touch. But I get that it’s ELF and it’s cheap makeup, so I guess I shouldn’t have been expecting too much.

This was $10 from the ELF website, and this is honestly such a pricey product!! My Simple Moisturizing cleanser that I absolutely love from the drugstore comes with the same amount of product for just over $5, so this is literally two times the price of the cleanser I usually buy. On the up side, I absolutely love the packaging of this product! It is so sleek and minimal and I love the blue-green tint of the bottle. It definitely reminds me of the Clinique face wash both in the packaging and the scent of the product. Unfortunately, that’s about the only positive I have to mention today.

The ELF website lists this as the description for this product, “Infused with shea butter, jojoba, mango, and olive oil, this Nourishing Oil to Foam Cleanser nurtures the skin as it gently removes dirt, pollutants, and makeup. Get refreshed and healthy skin with every use.” I’ve used this product first thing when I step in the shower on a dry face to remove my makeup, as stated in the directions of the product. I’ve tried both applying the oil straight to my face and rubbing it around to lather as well as lathering the oil in my hands and then applying it to my face that way.

Since this says right in the description that this is for removing makeup, that’s the main purpose I purchased this for. However, this is HORRIBLE at removing makeup. Every single time I have used this to remove my makeup, I’ve had mascara smudges all over my eyes and nose and I’ve had leftover foundation and concealer on my under-eyes and chin. Even when I wash my face TWO TIMES back to back with this product, I still have makeup remnants all over my face when I get out of the shower. I always have to follow up with another product after I use this.

I wish that was the end of it, but we’re just getting started.

The actual application of this product is really difficult to work with. This comes out as a super liquidy water-like oil, and it runs right off my hand while trying to get my hand to my face to lather it up. I end up wasting a lot of product every time I use this because it’s just so liquidy.

I also find that this leaves my skin feelig SUPER tight after I cleanse with it. I definitely have to follow up with a heavy duty moisturizer.

This does make my skin feel like I have a light film on my face. I really do feel like my skin is slightly tacky and sticky right after I wash my face with this.

So basically, this is the worst cleanser I’ve ever used. I love the packaging, but everything else about this is pretty terrible in my book. I wish I had a better review for this because I really was super excited to try this out, but now I’m stuck with a bottle of $10 cleanser that I’m never going to use again.

Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time!

Best and Worst of ELF Cosmetics!

I’m so excited for today’s post! This is going to be a brand focus on everything I’ve tried from ELf Cosmetics! This is going to be all makeup, and I’m planning on doing another post focusing on skincare and tools, and a third post on their makeup brushes!

Mad for Matte Palette

First up is the Mad for Matte Palette! For me, this is kind of a hit and miss product. The shadows themselves are super buttery and blendable, but the colors all kind of blend into one color for me (which is saying something because I’m super pale). I wouldn’t buy this again, but I do think it’s worth trying if you have a smaller collection and want to expand your range of mattes.

Eyeshadow Primer

As far as eyeshadow primers go, this isn’t my favorite! I find this to be kind of oily on the lids, much like the Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer. It’s only $1, but I would skip this one.

Clear Brow & Lash Mascara

This is such an awesome brow gel for only a dollar! I used this stuff for YEARS until I got hooked on tinted brow gel, and I would totally recommend this!

Eyeshadow Quad

I used to use this little eyeshadow quad for years before I could afford to buy high end palettes, and they are pretty good quality shadows! I wouldn’t say they’re as good as the larger palettes that ELF has out now, but they are better than a lot of other drugstore shadows!

Glitter Primer

I like this primer a lot more than their normal eyeshadow primer! This is a lot tackier and helps hold the shadow on a lot longer! I haven’t tried this with glitter, but I’m sure it would be perfect for that!

Matte Lip Color

This lipstick is a really good formula! I really like the color range they have, and it’s a super comfortable matte. The shade “Natural” is so beautiful!

Lip Exfoliator

This is such a steal from ELF! I love the packaging of this and I love that I don’t have to dip my finger into a little pot and use my finger to scrub my lips. This is so quick and convenient for every day use, and it smells and tastes great too!
Luscious Liquid Lipstick

I really like the packaging of this lipstick, but the formula wasn’t my favorite! I probably wouldn’t buy this again, but I think for $1 it’s definitely than any lipsticks you’ll find at the Dollar Tree.

Mineral Infused Face Primer

This is kind of a dud for me! I think it’s a good primer if you like silicone primers, but I really don’t! This would probably be a pretty dang close dupe to the Smashbox Primer, and I think a lot of people would like this if you’re okay with silicone.

Blush & Bronzer Duo

Who didn’t have this back in the day!? I thought this was a perfect little duo to have a compact blush and bronzer when traveling! They’ve come out with multiple colors since I owned this, so you can pick and choose which one works best for you!

Baked Highlighter “Moonlit Pearls”

This is my most recent buy from ELF, and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! You have to scrape off the top layer to get the “baked” film off, but once that’s gone, this is one of the most beautiful highlights ever!

What are some of your favorites from ELF? Let me know in a comment down below! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, and I’ll see you soon!

Products I’ve Used Up – May and June EMPTIES

I’ve got another empties post for you today, but we’re actually combining everything I finished in May and June. We moved house in the beginning of May, so everything was boxed up and I didn’t really get around to finishing very many things, so I decided to throw them into my June’s empties. Let’s get into the products!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder

I finished this powder in early May, and I already had a backup that I was using when this one was gone. I love this powder so much, and I will always repurchase this guy!!

Essence Lash Princess Mascara

I’m finally calling it quits on my Essence Lash Princess Mascara. I have a whole review post if you want to hear my thoughts on this, but (spoiler alert) I probably won’t be buying this again.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I went through another tube of my favorite concealer. Not much to say here, I already repurchased this and will continue to repurchase.

Garnier Clearly Brighter Moisturizer Sample

I finally finished up this sample moisturizer just in time for the wrap up of my Finish 7 By Summer project Pan! I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. I wouldn’t buy the full size, but I wouldn’t mind having another sample of it.

Karsashian Beauty Black Seed Dry Oil

I finally finished up this hair oil! This was pretty average as far as hair oil is concerned, and I would consider repurchasing it in the future. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really anything super special either.

Be Fine Gentle Cleanser Sample

This was one of the products in my Finish 14 By Fall Project Pan, and I went through this pretty fast. It wasn’t anything special, just a typical cleanser.

Pantene Moisture Renewal Shampoo

I finished up my big Pantene shampoo right at the end of May. I got this for Christmas, so this bottle has lasted me a good full 5 months. I really liked the smell of this, and I’ll definitely be repurchasing as soon as I finish up the shampoo I’m currently using.

Beauty Protector Hair Oil

This was one of the products that I added to my Finish 14 By Fall Project, and I’m happy that I got it done early on! I really liked this hair oil, and I would totally consider purchasing the full size at some point. This stuff smelled incredible too.

A pretty small gathering of products this month, but I hope you enjoyed nonetheless. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time!

L’Oréal Infalliable Single Shadow Review – Amber Rush

I have a super quick review on my Amber Rush single shadow from L’Oréal! This product has been so hyped up over the years, and I recently picked it up and wanted to share my thoughts on it and tell you guys whether it’s worth the hype or not.

This is a loose shadow that has been pressed down flat by a little stopper that they include inside of the packaging. I really like that they give you the little stopper so that if the shadow gets messed up you can press it down again. This particular shade Amber Rush is a super beautiful shimmery bronze color.

I really love the formula of the shadow because it has all of the shine of a loose pigment without all of the mess and fallout. This packs such a huge punch when I sweep it all over the lid, and I really like the effect.

I HIGHLY recommend this shadow to everyone. I think the shade is so beautiful for a one-color look, and it’s pretty universally flattering. As I mentioned before, this packs a huge punch without being super messy and having a ton of fallout. I really love this product, and I’ve seriously used it every single day since I picked it up. I’m definitely planning on grabbing some more shades from this line of shadows, but if you haven’t tried this one out, you need to.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, and I hope you enjoyed seeing my quick review! I’ll see you real soon!

Haul UPDATE – What Worked and What DIDN’T – May Elf, L’Oreal + More Haul

Today I’m updating you on my ELF, L’Oréal + More HAUL! I love these types of videos on YouTube that tell you whether everything worked out and what was actually worth the money and worth buying again, so I thought I would incorporate this idea into my blog and post a follow up to my most recent haul. I’m so excited to try this out, so let’s get into it!

L’Oreal Butterfly Sculpt Mascara

I love the concept of this mascara, and I love the idea of a sculpting mascara to top off your normal mascara and add some volume and definition. However, I was an idiot and got this in waterproof which is definitely not my favorite to remove at the end of the day, so I’ve only used this 4 or 5 times. I like it, and I would totally get it as a topper mascara in the normal formula.

L’Oreal Magic BB Cream

This is such an awesome product! I love the lightweight feel, and it matches my pale skin so perfectly. This also keeps me matte all day despite having crazy oily skin. I’ve tried this stuff out before and decided to pick it up again in my haul, and I’m glad I did! I forgot how awesome this stuff is.

L’Oreal Lumi Highlighter “Ice”

I’ve been really enjoying this highlighter for my super pale skin. This is very white when you actually apply it to the skin, and it can kind of create a grey cast to your cheekbones when first applied. This does melt into my skin and doesn’t look so icy and crazy after a few hours.

L’Oreal Infalliable Shadow “Amber Rush”

I LOVE THIS SHADOW! This is the most gorgeous, stunning, shimmery bronze copper color, and it adds such a beautiful pop to the eyes. I have a whole review post coming SOON on this guy, so stay tuned to hear more thoughts and see some swatches.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

These are my new holy grail makeup remover wipes! These take off my makeup super easily without having to pull or tug at my eyes, and I love the convenience factor of keeping these at my bedside for when I’m feeling too lazy to get up and wash my face before bed. I’m planning on buying these over and over again.

Wet n Wild Shadow “Brulee”

I love this shadow so much! This is a staple in my makeup collection, and I use this all the time when I have a palette that doesn’t include this shade. I love this for an all over base under shadow / to set my eyeshadow primer, and I love this as a browbone highlight.

ELF Lip Exfoliator “Coconut”

This is another new holy grail product in my collection! Putting a lip scrub into a lipstick tube form was such an awesome idea, and it makes it so so so convenient to scrub my lips before lipstick because I can use it alone; I don’t have to reach into a pot of scrub with my finger and use a toothbrush or my finger to scrub my lips.

ELF Selfie Ready Foundation Blurring Brush

I still haven’t had a chance to try out this foundation brush since I’ve been using my Covergirl foundation that looks better with a sponge and haven’t dipped back into my Revlon Colorstay Foundation yet.

ELF Eyebrow Duo Brush

I love this brush so much!!! This has changed the game for my brow routine, and it’s made everything so much easier and faster. I love having the brow brush and comb double sided instead of having to use two different brushes. I can do my brows in almost half the time now.

Do you like the idea of this series? I think it’s so fun to update you on my haul and tell you what was good and what wasn’t instead of just showing you a bunch of new stuff. Thank you so so much for checking out this post, and I’ll see you super soon in my next one!!
