L’Oréal Infalliable Single Shadow Review – Amber Rush

I have a super quick review on my Amber Rush single shadow from L’Oréal! This product has been so hyped up over the years, and I recently picked it up and wanted to share my thoughts on it and tell you guys whether it’s worth the hype or not.

This is a loose shadow that has been pressed down flat by a little stopper that they include inside of the packaging. I really like that they give you the little stopper so that if the shadow gets messed up you can press it down again. This particular shade Amber Rush is a super beautiful shimmery bronze color.

I really love the formula of the shadow because it has all of the shine of a loose pigment without all of the mess and fallout. This packs such a huge punch when I sweep it all over the lid, and I really like the effect.

I HIGHLY recommend this shadow to everyone. I think the shade is so beautiful for a one-color look, and it’s pretty universally flattering. As I mentioned before, this packs a huge punch without being super messy and having a ton of fallout. I really love this product, and I’ve seriously used it every single day since I picked it up. I’m definitely planning on grabbing some more shades from this line of shadows, but if you haven’t tried this one out, you need to.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, and I hope you enjoyed seeing my quick review! I’ll see you real soon!

Haul UPDATE – What Worked and What DIDN’T – May Elf, L’Oreal + More Haul

Today I’m updating you on my ELF, L’Oréal + More HAUL! I love these types of videos on YouTube that tell you whether everything worked out and what was actually worth the money and worth buying again, so I thought I would incorporate this idea into my blog and post a follow up to my most recent haul. I’m so excited to try this out, so let’s get into it!

L’Oreal Butterfly Sculpt Mascara

I love the concept of this mascara, and I love the idea of a sculpting mascara to top off your normal mascara and add some volume and definition. However, I was an idiot and got this in waterproof which is definitely not my favorite to remove at the end of the day, so I’ve only used this 4 or 5 times. I like it, and I would totally get it as a topper mascara in the normal formula.

L’Oreal Magic BB Cream

This is such an awesome product! I love the lightweight feel, and it matches my pale skin so perfectly. This also keeps me matte all day despite having crazy oily skin. I’ve tried this stuff out before and decided to pick it up again in my haul, and I’m glad I did! I forgot how awesome this stuff is.

L’Oreal Lumi Highlighter “Ice”

I’ve been really enjoying this highlighter for my super pale skin. This is very white when you actually apply it to the skin, and it can kind of create a grey cast to your cheekbones when first applied. This does melt into my skin and doesn’t look so icy and crazy after a few hours.

L’Oreal Infalliable Shadow “Amber Rush”

I LOVE THIS SHADOW! This is the most gorgeous, stunning, shimmery bronze copper color, and it adds such a beautiful pop to the eyes. I have a whole review post coming SOON on this guy, so stay tuned to hear more thoughts and see some swatches.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

These are my new holy grail makeup remover wipes! These take off my makeup super easily without having to pull or tug at my eyes, and I love the convenience factor of keeping these at my bedside for when I’m feeling too lazy to get up and wash my face before bed. I’m planning on buying these over and over again.

Wet n Wild Shadow “Brulee”

I love this shadow so much! This is a staple in my makeup collection, and I use this all the time when I have a palette that doesn’t include this shade. I love this for an all over base under shadow / to set my eyeshadow primer, and I love this as a browbone highlight.

ELF Lip Exfoliator “Coconut”

This is another new holy grail product in my collection! Putting a lip scrub into a lipstick tube form was such an awesome idea, and it makes it so so so convenient to scrub my lips before lipstick because I can use it alone; I don’t have to reach into a pot of scrub with my finger and use a toothbrush or my finger to scrub my lips.

ELF Selfie Ready Foundation Blurring Brush

I still haven’t had a chance to try out this foundation brush since I’ve been using my Covergirl foundation that looks better with a sponge and haven’t dipped back into my Revlon Colorstay Foundation yet.

ELF Eyebrow Duo Brush

I love this brush so much!!! This has changed the game for my brow routine, and it’s made everything so much easier and faster. I love having the brow brush and comb double sided instead of having to use two different brushes. I can do my brows in almost half the time now.

Do you like the idea of this series? I think it’s so fun to update you on my haul and tell you what was good and what wasn’t instead of just showing you a bunch of new stuff. Thank you so so much for checking out this post, and I’ll see you super soon in my next one!!

Physicians Formula Butter Blush Review! Is It Worth The Hype?!

I just recently picked up the Physicians Formula Butter Blush in the shade Plum Rose, and I really want to do a whole review post talking about whether or not I think it’s worth all of the hype that it’s been getting!

I looked all over for a good deal on this blush, so I’m going to share the prices that I found. Ulta had this listed for $12.99, Target had it priced at $12.95, Walgreens had it for $12.95, and Walmart had it for $10.63. If you’re planning on getting multiple shades, wait for Ulta to have a buy one get one half off or a buy two get one free sale. If you want to pick up just one shade, DEFINITELY go to Walmart for this blush!!

If you haven’t heard from all of the hype surrounding the MuruMuru Butter line from Physicians Formula (they started out with the bronzers and just recently added the blushes), the ENTIRE line smells like coconut and sunscreen and summer vacation! This seriously fills the whole bathroom with such an amazing smell every time I open it to put it on in the morning.

This blush swatches so buttery, and the powder itself is so smooth and creamy! It’s also really pigmented, especially considering it’s such a subtle natural shade. I know there was a lot of reviews saying that you have to be super fair skinned in order for these blushes to show up on you, and I would have to agree with that. I’m super pale, so this blush is gorgeous on me and I love that it’s not too bright and pigmented on my pale skin (like a lot of blushes tend to be… It’s such a struggle to always have to use a light hand and be super careful not to put too much blush on).

Overall, I love this blush and I’m dying to get my hands on a couple more shades. I wouldn’t say that this is my all time favorite blush line, but this is hands down the best formula at the drugstore! I highly recommend trying these blushes out.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Have you tried these blushes? What have your thoughts been on them? Let me know in a comment down below!

Benefit Gimme Brow vs. Essence Make Me Brow – Review and Comparison

Hello lovelies and welcome back to my blog! Today I’m going to be doing a side-by-side comparison of the Benefit Gimme Brow and the Essence Make Me Brow. Everyone has been labeling these as dupes for YEARS, so I finally decided to test them out side-by-side for myself. Let’s get into the two products and I’ll let you know what my thoughts are and if these are really a dupe!

The Gimme Brow retails for $24.00 from Ulta, while the Make Me Brow is only $2.99 at Ulta. Gimme Brow comes with 0.1 oz and the Make Me Brow comes with 0.13 oz of product, so you get .03 oz more for an EIGHTH of the price. They both come in 3 different shades.

On Ulta’s website, the description of the Gimme Brow says that it is an “award-winning, innovative brush-on gel (that) contains tiny microfibers that adhere to skin and hair, creating full, lush-looking brows where there were none. The water resistant, long-wearing formula builds easily for thick, full arches, thanks to a tiny tapered brush for blending and precision tip for shaping.” The description for the Make Me Brow says that it “has a tinted gel formula that contains tiny fibers to fill in gaps to create fuller, more defined eyebrows. The perfectly sized fiber brush shapes and tames to brow perfection.” As you can tell, they are both marketed as a fiber gel that will shape the brows to make them look fuller. The Gimme Brow claims to have a water resistant, long-wearing formula and a tiny tapered brush (which I personally have found those claims to be true. The Gimme Brow does have a very long wearing formula and I do enjoy the tapered brush for precise application, but more on that later).

I have the lightest shade in both of these brow gels, and you can see that the colors of the two are different. The Gimme Brow has a much more cool toned ashy undertone while the Make Me Brow is much warmer toned. I personally prefer the ashy tone of the Gimme Brow on my personal brows.

As far as the formula goes, these two brow gels are very different once again. The Gimme Brow has a much drier matte finish to it and the gel itself is very thick. The Make Me Brow is much thinner and much more liquidy. (Again, I personally prefer the Gimme Brow formula because I find that the drier and thicker formula builds up on the brows and adds tons of volume and pigment.

As far as the brush itself, I again prefer Benefit. The wand is obviously much smaller (the tiniest brush I’ve ever seen on a brow gel which is why this doesn’t have a perfect dupe) and the tip is tapered to a point which makes it much easier to fill in the front part of your brows versus the Make Me Brow which is a very square shape and has a much larger want. The bristles on the Make Me Brow are SO scratchy on my brows, and I honestly hate applying the product with this wand. I’ve found myself dipping the Gimme Brow wand into the Make Me Brow to apply it, and I really don’t mind the Essence gel that way.

I don’t think that these are exact dupes, and I don’t think the experience is the same using the Essence Make Me Brow. If you’re interested in the Gimme Brow but have never tried it (and you’re not looking for the EXACT same product at a cheaper price point, but rather just something similar that will give you a similar effect) I do recommend the Make Me Brow. I don’t think anything can replace the Benefit Gimme Brow if it’s one of your holy grail products (at least the Make Me Brow can’t) so if you’re looking for a BETTER alternative, you won’t find it in Essence. That being said, the Make Me Brow really isn’t a bad product at all, and I will probably repurchase when I finish it up (using the Gimme Brow brush with it of course).

I hope you enjoyed reading my side-by-side comparison of the Essence Make Me Brow and the Benefit Gimme Brow. Have you tried these two products? What did you think of them? Let me know in a comment down below! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll talk to you soon!!

My Top 5 Brow Products

Hello lovelies! We’re going to be talking about my top 5 favorite brow products today while we continue on with my top 5 series on my blog! I have everything from tinted brow gel to pomade to brow pencil and powder to chat about today, so let’s go ahead and get into everything I’ve loved to get my brows on fleek.

5. L’Oréal Brow Stylist Tinted Gel

I really loved the formula of this tinted brow gel when I tried it about a year ago, and I thought the brush was the most similar to the teeny Gimme Brow brush that I’ve ever seen at the drugstore (even closer than the Essence Make Me Brow which is supposed to be a direct dupe for the Gimme Brow). I would definitely repurchase this as long as I don’t get the light to medium color again. The color was so orange and weird and I couldn’t make it work with my brows, but it’s totally on my list to pick up the darker color and give this another shot.

4. Maybelline Define + Fill Brow Duo

I’ve absolutely loved the powder side of this Maybelline brow duo over the last couple of years! The pencil side wasn’t my favorite (mostly because I don’t like brow pencils) but the powder did an awesome job filling in my brows and it looked super natural. I would love to buy just the loose powder with the little sponge applicator if it was available (you should really get on that Maybelline) because I feel like it would be amazing for getting ready in a hurry.

3. Essence Make Me Brow

Oh my goodness, I’v been obsessed with the formula of the Essence Make Me Brow lately! Unfortunately, I feel like the brush is kind of scratchy if I’m trying to really dig this into my brows to add a lot of color. To get around this, I’ve started using the Gimme Brow wand with this product and I really love the way that makes my brows look and it applies just the right amount of product with the Benefit brush!

2. Benefit Gimme Brow

Speaking of the Gimme Brow, I absolutely LOVE this brow gel! I really wish this wasn’t so dang expensive, but I love how ashy this is (but ashy in a good way as in it has more of a grey undertone instead of the typical orange undertone so it makes my brows look super dark and blonde and wonderful). It gives my brows so much volume and keeps everything in place so well!! I also love that the formula is more matte than the typical brow gel so it really does add so much pigment and volume to your brows. This is the best for a quick defined brow when I don’t want to fuss with a bunch of brushes and containers.

1. Anastasia DipBrow Pomade

My number one favorite brow product is my good old trusty Anastasia DipBrow pomade! This gives me bold and gorgeous brows, and the pot of pomade lasts over a year of using it every day. They have so many different colors of this product, so it’s super easy to match it to whatever brow or hair color you want. If you haven’t tried the DipBrow yet, you need to!

What is your favorite brow product? Let me know in a comment down below!! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I really hope you guys are liking this top 5 series because it’s been so much fun for me to do so far!! I’ll see you real soon!

April Empties – Products I’ve Used Up

I’ve got another empties post today!! This month is going to be short and sweet since I was in Atlanta for the first week of the month and only had my travel size products available to me (I hate going a full week without being able to work on products! Makes for a super short empties that month). Let’s get into my empties!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I finished yet another bottle of my Revlon Colorstay foundation during the month. I have a whole review post on this if you’re new here, but any of you who have been around for a while knows that I talk about this all the time.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer

This is another frequent empty in this series. I mentioned this in my Maybelline concealer guide post, but I love this concealer for under my eyes (even if it only lasts a few weeks of everyday use).

Maybelline Matte + Poreless Powder

I finished up yet another one of my Maybelline powders. I’ve already repurchased this, and I do highly recommended this to anyone with oily skin!

Tresseme Dry Shampoo

I finished up this dry shampoo while I was on my Georgia trip. It’s not my all time favorite, but it did the job well and was just fine for making my hair look less oily.

Amika Dry Shampoo Sample

This is hands down the best dry shampoo I’ve ever used! I wish this stuff wasn’t so dang expensive! It makes my hair feel so soft and clean without leaving white powder behind, and it smells absolutely incredible. This would be such a splurge to get in a full size, but I’d consider it.

Old Spice Deodorant

I enjoy using men’s deodorant because it works so much better than women’s. The Bearglove scent and the Wolfthorn scent from Old Spice both smell like Kool Aide and I absolutely love them.

Vera Bradley Vanilla Sea Salt Perfume Sample

I finally made myself finish up this Vera Bradley perfume sample that I got in Birchbox forever ago (we’re talking probably almost a year ago now). I really did enjoy the scent of this which is why I didn’t want to use it all up. It smelled like vanilla and summertime, and I would definitely consider buying a full size to use as a summer fragrance.

Vanilla Bean Noel Candle

I finally got to the end of my Vanilla Bean Noel candle (yes in April, hilarious I know). I liked the scent, but I really do prefer the Vanilla candle from Walmart’s in house brand a lot more. It smells much more strongly of vanilla and is less than half the price of the Bath & Body Works candles.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this month’s empties! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, and I’ll see you next time!

My Top 5 Face Powders

I’m continuing my top 5 series today with my top 5 face powders! These are all from the drugstore because I find that drugstore powders are the most easily accessible (and who doesn’t love a good powder under $10?!). I have very oily skin, so these are all mattifying powders to help keep my makeup from getting shiny, so if you have very dry skin, I don’t know how much you would like these, but here are my top 5 powders!

5. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder “Light”

They’ve reformulated this powder since I used mine up, but I liked this and I definitely want to pick up another one of these. Even thought it’s called “stay matte”, it gave a natural finish more than a matte finish on my skin back when I was using it all the time.

4. Revlon ColorStay Powder “Translucent”

I remember really liking this powder, but I haven’t actually used it in a couple of years. I don’t use this with the Revlon Color Stay foundation, but this is a really good matte powder.

3. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

This powder is discontinued, so I probably shouldn’t even be putting this on the top 5 list, but I thought I would mention it so that if any of you have tried it before, you can kind of get an idea for the type of powders that I like. This was the most mattifying powder I’ve ever used, and I was so sad when they got rid of this from their line!

2. Maybelline Shine Free Loose Powder “Light”

I love this powder with my Revlon Colorstay foundation, and I think that the loose powder version of this gives the most beautiful matte natural finish. This keeps my skin looking like skin while helping my very oily skin to stay matte.

1. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless “Translucent”

My number one favorite powder is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless! This keeps me matte the longest and I love how the translucent powder makes my skin look. If you have oily skin and you haven’t tried this powder, you definitely should!!

What is your favorite powder of all time? Have you tried any of my favorites? Let me know in a comment down below! I’m still going strong with this Top 5 series, so I hope you’ll stick around to see all of the ones I have in store for you guys. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I’ll talk to you really soon!
