Summer 2017 Wishlist UPDATE – What Did I Buy?

Happy fall everyone! I thought now would be a good time to update you on my summer wishlist! I didn’t end up buying a whole bunch of the items on my wishlist because I actually changed my mind about a lot of these items. I’ve been trying to downsize some more and simplify our home, so I’ve been getting rid of a bunch of things and looking a lot more closely at what I want to bring into my home.

ColourPop Lippie Stix (Contempo, Oh Snap, Lumière, Brink, Cami)

I haven’t been wearing lipstick very often, so my ColourPop order got pushed to the side. I’m definitely going to roll these items over to my next wishlist.

ColourPop Aquarius Bundle

The same goes for these ColourPop items. I haven’t placed an order yet, but I’m going to roll these over for when I do.

Loreal Super Shock Shadows “Iced Latte” and “Amber Rush”

I ended up purchasing the Amber Rush shade and I absolutely love it! It’s one of my all time favorite shadows! I decided that I don’t really need the Iced Latte shade because I have this exact color in almost every palette I own, so I’m taking it off my wishlist.

Milani Eyeshadow Primer

This is another item that’s staying on my list. I haven’t needed a primer, but when I finish up the one I’m currently using, this will be the one I buy.

NYX Tinted Brow Gel “Blonde”

This product is rolling over to my next wishlist also. I’ve been just getting into my Essence Make Me Brow, so as soon as that is used up I’ll go get this brow gel next.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter “Radiant Lights” OR Essence Pure Nude Highlighter “Be My Highlight 01”

I ended up buying the ELF Baked Highlighter, and I love it so much that I’m going to be taking these off of my wishlist!

Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Blusher “Peachy Keen Heart”

I honestly just changed my mind on this product and don’t really feel like I need it.

Prada Candy Perfume

I love this perfume so much, but I haven’t been able to justify spending $70 on something like perfume when I have so many cheaper body sprays from Bath & Body Works that I like already.
Milk Makeup Eye Pigment “Hotel Lobby”

I’m dying to get my hands on this, but every time I go to order it, it’s sold out on Sephora’ website! This is something that I’m keeping on my wishlist for sure.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

My sample of the Tattoo Liner is still going strong, so I probably won’t need to buy this anytime soon.

Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer

I got a sample of this primer, and I’ve got to admit that I wasn’t impressed enough to spend over $30 on it. I’m going to try out a few from the drugstore in the upcoming months and see if any of them are as good or better than this.

IGK Prenup Instant Spray Hair Mask

I ended up chopping 9 inches of hair off at the beginning of the summer, so I really don’t have a need for this type of a product now that my hair is so short.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I purchased and what I changed my mind about for my summer wishlist! I’ll be putting up a fall wishlist very soon, and I’m definitely going to put more thought into what I really want and need going forward. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, and I’ll see you next time!

Finish 14 By Fall Project Pan- Update #1

I’m here with my first update for my Finish 14 By Fall Project Pan! As you know, this is a rolling project pan which means that instead of focusing on 14 specific products, I’m just trying to reach my goal on 14 products total. Because of that, for every product I use up I’m going to be adding another product (give or take). Let’s start out with what I’m finished and then get into what I’m adding and finish with my progress pictures for the products still in the project.

Products I’ve Finished:

Here are all of the items that I’ve finished up so far!

1. Be Fine Gentle Cleanser

I finished this cleanser pretty quickly, and I didn’t really think it was anything too special. I’m sure I’ll be adding other cleanser samples to the project as it goes along because they are pretty easy for me as far as finishing up in a timely manner.

2. Beauty Protector Hair Oil

I really loved this hair oil! I would totally purchase the full size of this product, but I’m going to hold off until I finish up some of my other leave in conditioners and hair oils that I have in que. This stuff smells awesome and it never weighs down my hair or makes it feel greasy.

3. Skin & Co Truffle Face Toner

I finished up the rest of this face toner. It wasn’t necessarily my favorite product, but I dislike it either.

4. Pan on any Chocolate Bar Palette Shade

I hit pan on “white chocolate” up on the top row! These shadows are so densely packed that it was really a challenge and it took me almost 2 months of everyday use to get it there! While it’s only a sliver of pan, I’ll take it (honestly because I’ve been using this palette every day for 2 months straight and I’m ready to switch it out)!

Products I’m Adding:

These are the items that I’m adding into the project. I have room for a couple more things, but I’m going to wait until my next update to keep adding in more products.

Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco

This is a sample from ipsy that I decided I would try to use up. I emptied it out of the bottle it came in and put it into this clear bottle so we could see my progress on it. A little bit of this goes such a long way, and it’s definitely a lot more difficult to work with than my Beauty Protector oil, so this might take me the whole project to finish.

L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara

This is the mascara that never dies. I’ve been using this for a couple of months now and every time I think it’s done, there’s more product to be had inside. I’ve have other mascaras I want to dig into but I can’t until this one is gone, so I’m working really hard at it.

Products I’m Working On:

Burt’s Bees Grapefruit Lip Balm

I’m really not loving the flavor of this lip balm, so it might be time to toss it instead of trying to make myself finish it. I’m going to give this a couple more chances, but I’m sure this will be decluttered eventually.

ModelCo Lip Gloss

I’m the worst and I’ve seriously used this one time since I started this project! I’m definitely learning my lesson with lip products, and this might be something that I just go ahead and get rid of at the end of this since I clearly don’t use it.

Pan on L’Oréal Lumi Highlighter

I actually really do prefer my ELF Baked Highlighter to this one, so I haven’t been using this at all. I know I really should break it out and keep at it, but I don’t want to force myself to use something that I’m not feeling.

L’Oréal Magic BB Cream

My skin has been breaking out like crazy lately so this hasn’t been getting a lot of love, but it’s about halfway gone now, and hopefully I can rotate this through on the weekends to keep making progress with it.

Rimmel Kate Lipstick

Again, I really haven’t been using this lipstick at all. I think that it’s going to end up being decluttered soon because I really tend to prefer a cream over a matte on a day to day basis, so this doesn’t get used hardly ever.

ELF Foil Packet Duo

These have a lot more product in them than I was expecting! I’m still trying to push through!

Fierce Flicks Eyeliner

I’m still using this eyeliner every day and I can tell that it’s starting to be on it’s way out. This will be gone by the finale for sure.

Ultra Repair Cream Sample

I think I picked the wrong season to try to use this guy. It’s been super hot and the last thing I want to do is slather on some thick heavy moisturizer! I think this would be better suited for a winter time project for sure.

Japanese Cherry Blossom Hand Soap

I’ve made some really good progress with this hand soap, and I’m hopeful that this will be done by the end of this project.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer

I’ve been using this primer every single day and I feel like this tube is never going to end! Eyeshadow primers are really hard to use up, but I’m pushing along.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this update! Although I don’t have many products finished yet, I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to power through some of these in the next month or two so that I can be hit my goal of 14 by the end of the project! Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next time!

Why I Won’t Purchase From Benefit Cosmetics Anymore

Today I’m going to be doing a VERY different type of post than normal, and I’m going to be talking about why I won’t purchase from Benefit Cosmetics anymore. I think it goes without saying, but this is just my own personal opinion and I’m not here to offend anyone or try to persuade you to agree with my opinion, I’m just expressing some frustration with the brand to get it off my mind.

Benefit Cosmetics makes some super awesome products! I absolutely adore the Gimme Brow tinted gel, and it’s one of my holy grail products. I also really love their boxed face powders, especially their Coralista blush. There used to be so many items from Benefit on my wishlist, but I’ve since taken them off and decided that I’m not going to purchase from them anymore.

Why you may ask? Because I hate how Benefit (among other brands, but Benefit being the worst of all of them) handles their marketing. Benefit Cosmetics ranges anywhere from $24 to $46 USD for full size products. I honestly believe that these prices wouldn’t be so high if they didn’t spend so much money on their advertisement using internet influencers. Let me explain.

Benefit not only sends out PR packages to hundreds of people with hundreds of dollars worth of free product for them to show on their YouTube channels and social media accounts, but they also pay for mulit-thousand dollar trips to the Bahamas, Hawaii, and other tropical places where they take YouTubers and Instagrammers in hopes that they will show their products on social media.

I think that Benefit is ripping off their paying customers by throwing tons of money into free products, vacations, and other presents in exchange for positive reviews posted on social media. I think that these hundreds of thousands of dollars could be better put toward lowering the cost of the products or improving the quality of their existing line.

I hope that this explains and clears up why I won’t buy anything from Benefit anymore. I don’t think it’s right to give them my money so they can put it toward bribing social media personalities. (And yes, I realize that Benefit isn’t the only brand that pays for huge trips, presents, and free products. However, Benefit has been doing this for years and years and all of these things get more and more extravagant every time.)

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time!

August 2017 IPSY

I’m back with another What’s in my Ipsy! These are my favorite posts, and I absolutely love sharing what I got in my bag each month. This month’s ipsy theme is “good vibes only” and there were actually 3 different bag possibilities which I thought was super cool because even if you peek at what samples you’re getting, the bag is a surprise.

Although I’m not the biggest fan of my bag this month (and it’ll probably be donated), I think the idea of having a surprise bag is super cool.

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay

My first sample this month is this First Aid Beauty cleanser. I always say this, but I love when ipsy includes a high end brand! This is specifically for oily skin, which means that ipsy actually customized this to my beauty profile! This cleanser is allergy tested, safe for sensitive skin, and vegan so I’m super excited to try this out!!

Glamour Dolls Romantic Rose Blending Brush

This is a $4 brush from the brand Glamour Dolls and it is an eyeshadow blending brush. This is also cruelty free and vegan. As you can see, mine came bent, but I’ve contacted ipsy support to see if they can send me a replacement. The bag was way too small for a brush to fit into, and I wish they would’ve put it in the mailing envelope instead of jamming it into the bag!

Pacifica Coconut Blush Duo

This is a blush duo from Pacifica which is an awesome brand because they use super natural ingredients. These blushes are actually coconut infused which is super unique. Also, these pans are huge! I’m pretty sure these are full size blushes which is so impressive!

Make Up Forever Excessive Lash Mascara

I’ve heard really awesome things about this mascara, and I’ve never actually tried a mascara from Make Up Forever, so I’m really happy to get this sample.

Paula Dorf Cosmetics Mini Universal Brow Pencil “Taupe”

I don’t know anything about this brand at all, and they actually didn’t even have this brow pencil on their website for me to do research on, which I thought was kind of weird. I won’t be using this Brow Pencil because I typically prefer pomade so this will be passed on.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got in this month’s ipsy bag! Did you love your ipsy this month? Did you get any of the same products as me? Let me know in a comment down below! I’ll see you next time!

Haul UPDATE – What Worked and What Didn’t – HUGE Makeup and Beauty Haul June 2017

I'm here with another Haul Update post from my HUGE Makeup and Beauty Haul that I posted in June! This is super late going up, and I had every intention of posting this weeks ago, so I'm so sorry that this is late! I've been using all of these products for a while, and I'm back to let you know what worked and what didn't as well as tell you what was worth the money or not. Let's get into all of the items!

Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser

This stuff has been awesome for taking my makeup off! I love that I don't have to pull at my skin with this product, and it leaves my skin feeling SO moisturized after I rinse it off. I found this works best with wet skin and a dry washcloth (I tried dry skin and a wet washcloth and it wasn't as easy) but this is the best after I've been in the shower and my mascara has softened a little bit. There's a reason this is a classic product, and it really does work well to take makeup off.

OGX Coconut Oil Hydrating Oil Mist

I ended up chopping off 9 inches of hair right after I bought this, so I really haven't used it much!

Physicians Formula Butter Blush

Since this haul is so huge and there's so many products to go over, I'm going to save some time by sending you over to my Physicians Formula Butter Blush Review to hear how this blush worked for me! (Spoiler, I like it.)

Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment

This lip oil has been a GAME CHANGER and I can't believe no one is talking about this! I love this stuff to death and it has such an awesome scent. I like to put this all over my lips before bed and let it sink in while I sleep. I would totally repurchase this, and I love love love it as a lip treatment.

Milani Lipstick "Matte Naked"

I love this lipstick! Everything from the formula to the natural look it gives my lips is so beautiful!

ELF Glitter Primer

This is another product that I haven't had a chance to play around with too much. Overall, I like it a lot more than my Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer, so I guess that's saying something.

ELF Baked Highlighter

This is such a beautiful highlighter! I've been having a hard time putting it down to be honest. I love the glow and shimmer that this gives my cheeks, and the color is perfect on my skintone as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this, especially for the $4 that this will set you back.

Maybelline City Mini Palette "Rooftop Bronzes"

This palette is CRAZY good quality! I love all of the gorgeous shimmers and it's such a beautiful neutral palette. I've been thinking about depotting this into my ZPalette if possible to have the shades side by side with some mattes, but for now I've been loving to pull this in with other palettes.

Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment

You guys already know I love this stuff and have been using it for years. Moving on!

Simple Cleansing Wipes

These are my favorite makeup remover wipes! This was a repurchase for me, and I'm not planning on trying out any different makeup wipes for a while. If you find something that works, why switch to something different?

Caress Body Wash "Pure Embrace" and "Evenly Gorgeous"

I have no complaints about these body washes! They do the job and leave my skin feeling clean.

Essie Quick Drying Drops

I've honestly had a hard time with these quick drying drops. While they do dry your nails immediately, they leave a bunch of oil running all over your nails and hands. I haven't been able to really make this work well for me yet.

ELF Summer Lip Trio Freebie

I haven't actually worn the lipsticks yet, but I really like the lip scrub!

ELF Nourishing Oil to Foam Cleanser

I did a whole review on this product, but long story short I absolutely hated it.

ELF Hydrating Water Essence

I haven't gotten a ton of use out of this, but I can say that I love the scent and I think that it's very light weight on my skin.

Simply Summer's Eve Foaming Wash and Cleansing Cloths

I'm not going to get too TMI on you here, but I really love these products. They clean really well and smell great.

Wet n Wild Contour Brush

This brush is crazy soft! I've been using a little ELF brush from their $1 line for blush, and I didn't even realize how scratchy it was until I used it side by side with this $1 Wet n Wild brush! This is the perfect shape for blush, and I can't believe that it's so cheap! I've been using this every day since I bought it, and I can't get enough!

Wet n Wild Smoky Eyeliner Brush

I love this brush for my ColourPop Super Shock shadows and I think this would be awesome with any other cream shadows. I think this is a total steal for $1!

I hope you enjoyed hearing my updated thoughts on all of the haul items! I absolutely love this type of post, and I think it's so interesting to hear whether something is actually good or not as opposed to just seeing a bunch of new items in a haul. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I'll see you soon!

July Favorites

I'm back with another favorites post! Im going to try to keep July's favorites as short and sweet as I possibly can, so let's get into my super quick rundown.

ELF Baked Highlighter

I love this highlight so much that I could honestly get rid of every other highlighter in my collection and be perfectly content with just this one. It's such a perfect color for my skintone and adds the perfect amount of shimmer to the skin.

Physicians Formula Butter Blush

I have this blush in the shade "Plum Rose", but I love more than just this particular shade of blush. I'm also obsessed with the formula itself! I'm dying to pick up another color in this line because I love the formula so much!!
Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder

I picked this up on a whim and I'm so obsessed with this powder! I thought I wouldn't like it because it's a finishing powder and not a super mattifying powder, but this works so well with my foundations! This keeps me nice and matte and it's such a high quality finely milled powder. This has definitely replaced my Maybelline Shine Free loose powder as my holy grail.
Wet n Wild Angled Blush Blush

I've been using this angled brush for blush all month long, and I've got to say that this is the best quality brush I've ever picked up for $1! If you can get your hands on this, I highly recommend grabbing it! I love how precise this is for Blush and it really gives me an even, smooth application.
Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet

Despite being super annoyed at how little product came in this sample, I really freaking love the product inside. It's lightweight and super moisturizing, and I've actually been thinking about getting the full size.

I hope you've enjoyed my quick July favorites! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I'll see you next time!

Products I’ve Used Up – July Empties!

Welcome back to another month of empties! This month is super short, so let's go ahead and get right into the products!

Skin & Co Truffle Toner

I really enjoyed this toner! I don't know if I would purchase the full size, but it was nice enough.

Old Spice Bearglove Deodorant

Although this might seem like a weird empty to have, I really liked this Deodorant. This smells very fruity and not like a man at all, and it works so much better than any other deodorant I've ever tried! I love the Old Spice deodorants, and I have no intentions of switching back to women's anytime soon.

Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Deep Conditioner

This has taken me since Christmas to finish up (mostly because I didn't really love it). I found that this really weighed down my hair and made it oily really fast if I used this root to tip, so I started to use it just on the ends of my hair. But I found that it honestly didn't do much for me as far as adding extra moisture to my hair. I wouldn't repurchase.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

I've already repurchased this concealer, and I love this under the eyes so much! You guys already know that this is my holy grail, so I'm not going to get into it.

Fresh Sparkling Snow Body Cream

I finally finished up this huge bottle of lotion! This was one of my Products to Use Up in 2017 items, and I'm so happy that I finally got it done. I bought this around Christmas time in 2015, so it was definitely getting old and needed to be used up.

ELF Foil Packet

I used up the last of these samples, and there was really a lot of product in these. I wouldn't buy either of them because I don't really have a use for them.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I finished yet another can of my Dry Shampoo. I really like the Batiste brand, and I like pretty much every single scent they make.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my short and sweet empties this month! I've been working on a lot of full size products, so hopefully next month will be longer! Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you next time!
