HUGE Makeup and Beauty HAUL – June 2017

I have a collective haul to share with you guys today!! I made a trip to Target and Walmart a few days apart and then I stopped into Walgreens about a week later, and received my order about a week after that! I picked up some new beauty and makeup products for summer, and I’m so excited to show you everything! I’m also planning on doing an update post on this haul letting you know how all of the products worked out and what I liked and didn’t like, so stay tuned in the next few weeks for that post! For now, let’s just go ahead and get into what I bought:

Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser

I decided to pick up a jar of the Pond’s Cold Cream to take my makeup off with because Jessica Braun talks about it all the time on her YouTube channel. This is a cream cleanser that is supposed to be awesome and fast and removing your makeup, and I’m super excited to give this classic beauty product a try.

OGX Coconut Oil Hydrating Oil Mist

I really wanted to get a spray on hair oil to put in my hair and make it soft and shiny. I decided to pick up the coconut oil one from OGX because it smells absolutely incredible. This is a super exciting product for me because I don’t buy hair products very often!

Physicians Formula Butter Blush

I FINALLY took the plunge and picked up the Physicians Formula Butter Blush in the shade Plum Rose. I did a bunch of swatches and I actually already have a whole review post up on this that you should totally go check out (link is right here)!!!

Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatment

I picked this up on a whim because it’s marketed as a cross between a lip balm and a lip oil. I haven’t heard ANYONE talk about this, and it only has 3 reviews on Walmart’s website, so I’m not sure how this is going to work for me.

Milani Lipstick “Matte Naked”

Everyone talks about this shade and how amazing Milani lipsticks are, so I decided to give in and finally pick one up. The shade is so beautiful and natural on my lips, but I’m not too sure how I feel about the formula yet. I’ll update you on this when I do my haul update post!

ELF Glitter Primer

I picked this up on a whim to get my ELF cart to free shipping! I needed an extra couple of dollars, so I decided to try this out since my current eyeshadow primer is included in a Project Pan right now.

ELF Baked Highlighter

I’ve been dying to try this for so long, so I decided to FINALLY pick it up! I’ve heard that you need to scrape the top layer off, so once I did this swatched beautifully!

Maybelline City Mini Palette “Rooftop Bronzes”

I saw Tati mention this palette in one of her most recent YouTube videos, so I decided that I would pick it up after I saw how amazing her swatches looked. This palette is BEAUTIFUL and so cheap! I never buy drugstore palettes, so for me to go out on a limb and pick this up is a big deal. I’m going to keep playing with it and I’ll update you in a few weeks!

Clean & Clear Deep Action Scrub and Acne Spot Treatment

I got a couple of skincare items, but they’re both pretty boring. The spot treatment is a repurchase for me that I’ve been buying for years, and the facial scrub is for my hubby! Nothing new for me to try out here.

Simple Cleansing Wipes

This is another boring repurchase for me, but these are my favorite makeup wipes! I absolutely swear by these things. I picked up these wipes as well as the Clean & Clear items when Walgreens was doing a buy 2 get the 3rd free sale on skincare, so I actually got these wipes for free! Woot, woot!

Caress Body Wash “Pure Embrace” and “Evenly Gorgeous”

These were buy one get one free at Walgreens, so I decided to try them out since my Bath & Body Works body wash collection is down to one and a half bottles! I got the scent Pure Embrace which has white flowers and almond oil, and I also picked up Evenly Gorgeous which is burnt brown sugar and karite butter (and it smells absolutely incredible). I’m excited to try out some new body wash since I’ve been using B&BW for so long!

Essie Quick Drying Drops

I found this on sale for $4.49 at Walgreens when these are normally $10!! I was so shocked that they had so many colors and topcoats on sale for so cheap! I’ve been wanting some drying drops, so I’m super excited to try these out!

ELF Summer Lip Trio Freebie

When I placed my ELF order, they were offering a free lip trio bundle. This came with the clear lip exfoliator and two lipsticks in the shade “Blushing Brown” and “Fuchisa Fantasy”. I don’t know how I feel about the lip colors, but I’ll definitely use the lip exfoliator!

ELF Nourishing Oil to Foam Cleanser

Livloveshermakeup on YouTube recommended this Cleanser, and I thought it would be cool to try out an oil to foam cleanser! The packaging really reminds me of Clinique, and I love how sleek and luxurious it feels. It also smells a LOT like Clinique skincare.

ELF Hydrating Water Essence

I’m not going to lie, I thought this was a spray on Cleanser and I was super disappointed when I realized that this isn’t. I’m still excited to try it out, but I’ll have to let you know what I think in my haul update. Jury’s still out on this one.

Simply Summer’s Eve Foaming Wash and Cleansing Cloths

This might be boarding on TMI, but stay with me here! I’ve been wanting to try out Summer’s Eve’s new “Simply” line ever since I saw that they were coming out with a line branded toward all natural ingredients. I decided to go with the coconut scent, and I’m excited to try these out!

Wet n Wild Contour Brush

I was finally able to find this brush at the Dollar Tree, and I thought this would be a lovely blush brush, so I decided to pick it up to try it! I’ve heard such awesome things about these brushes, so I have high hopes.

Wet n Wild Smoky Liner Brush

I thought this brush looked like it would work well with ColourPop shadows, and it was at the Dollar Tree so even if I don’t love it, it only set me back a buck so it’s not that big of a deal.

I hope you enjoyed my quick little haul today! Have you tried any of the products I recently picked up? Let me know in a comment down below! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time!

L’Oréal Infalliable Single Shadow Review – Amber Rush

I have a super quick review on my Amber Rush single shadow from L’Oréal! This product has been so hyped up over the years, and I recently picked it up and wanted to share my thoughts on it and tell you guys whether it’s worth the hype or not.

This is a loose shadow that has been pressed down flat by a little stopper that they include inside of the packaging. I really like that they give you the little stopper so that if the shadow gets messed up you can press it down again. This particular shade Amber Rush is a super beautiful shimmery bronze color.

I really love the formula of the shadow because it has all of the shine of a loose pigment without all of the mess and fallout. This packs such a huge punch when I sweep it all over the lid, and I really like the effect.

I HIGHLY recommend this shadow to everyone. I think the shade is so beautiful for a one-color look, and it’s pretty universally flattering. As I mentioned before, this packs a huge punch without being super messy and having a ton of fallout. I really love this product, and I’ve seriously used it every single day since I picked it up. I’m definitely planning on grabbing some more shades from this line of shadows, but if you haven’t tried this one out, you need to.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, and I hope you enjoyed seeing my quick review! I’ll see you real soon!

Top 5 Underrated Makeup Products – Tarte, Too Faced, L’Oréal + MORE!

Today I’m going to be sharing my top 5 products that don’t get enough hype. These are things that I bought and am obsessed with, but hardly anyone talks about them, and I think they deserve some more attention! Let’s get into my picks in no particular order:

Too Faced “Natural” 9 Pan Palettes

The Natural palettes from Too Faced are some of the best palettes that no one ever really talks about. Everyone is familiar with their Chocolate Bar palettes and their Peanut Butter 9 pan palettes, but the Natural ones tend to be overlooked. I own both of these, and the Natural Matte is one of my all time favorite palettes!

L’oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

I will never stop singing this mascara’s praises. There is just nothing like it for giving you long, voluminous, false looking lashes. I will never not have this mascara in my collection!

Makeup Forever Artist Rouge Lipstick

This lipstick is such a beautiful formula. I love the way that it glides on, it’s super comfortable to wear on a daily basis, and the color stains on your lips a little bit so that even when the lipstick itself wears off you still get that nice little tint of color. I have a little sample of this, and when I use it up I’m definitely planning on buying the full size.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I feel like nobody talks about this foundation anymore, but it’s still such an incredible product!! I have a whole review post for the Revlon Colorstay so I’m not going to get into everything here, but I feel like this just deserves way more hype than it gets.

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer

This is a concealer that nobody talks about! I absolutely adore how high coverage and pigmented this product is, and it’s my all time favorite for spot concealing. I have a separate review post on this product as well if you want to check it out.

What are some of your favorites that don’t get enough hype? Let me know in a comment down below! I hope you enjoyed seeing today’s post, and I’ll talk to you really soon!!

Finish 14 By Fall – Project Pan INTRO (My Biggest Project EVER?!)

As one project pan wraps up, another begins! Doing these projects on my blog keeps me so motivated to work through my products, and I love taking the progress pictures and doing update posts! This is the biggest project I’ve EVER done, and I’m so nervous and excited for the challenge. I’m going to try to finish up 14 items by September 22nd which is the first official day of fall.

I’ve included some full size products all the way down to sample and foil packet sized products, and I’ve decided that I’m going to make this a ROLLING project pan, which meas that I’ll be adding in a product as soon as I use one up! Since I’ve got some challenging items here, I don’t want to lose focus and get discouraged if I’m not able to finish one, so I’m going to add in fresh new items so that I can get to that 14 item mark.

1. Burt’s Bees Grapefruit Lip Balm

This is a carry over from my Products to Use Up in 2017 challenge, but since that is half way over, I needed to carry over a couple of items to help keep that challenge rolling along. This lip balm is just under the halfway mark, so it should be easy to get done by the end of this project (not to mention grapefruit is the perfect flavor to finish in the summertime so that I don’t have to carry it into fall).

2. ModelCo Lip Gloss

I’ve had this lip gloss sample for a year now, and I’ve only used it 3 or 4 times! It’s going to expire soon, and I want to get some use out of it before it does. I figured summertime would be the perfect season to use up a gloss.

3. Pan on any Chocolate Bar Shade

I want to hit pan on any shade in my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I’m guessing it’ll be in either white chocolate, milk chocolate, or marzipan at this point because they have the biggest dips in them! Hopefully I’ll be able to do all three if I really push it.

4. Pan on L’oreal Lumi Highlighter

This is hands down the HARDEST product I’ve ever had the idea to include in a project pan. I want to try super hard to hit pan on my BRAND NEW L’oreal Highlighter. If I can get a serious dip in this by the end of the project, I’m going to let myself buy the rose gold shade in this line which will be stunning for fall.

5. L’oreal Magic BB Cream

This is another new product that I’m going to try to power through. My skin is super oily, and this BB Cream is the most mattifying BB I’ve ever tried, but it’s still a BB and it still makes me shiny by the end of the day. I’m hoping this doesn’t make me into a disaster during the hot summer months. I’m really vibing with the lighter coverage that a BB Cream offers during the summer for a more natural dewy look, so I want to aim to use this up before fall rolls around and I start craving the full coverage matte look.

6. Be Fine Gentle Cleanser sample

I’m throwing in this completely full sample sized tube of the Be Fine Gentle Cleanser. I just barely cracked this guy open and there seems to be a lot of product in here, but I’m confident I can get this used up in the next couple of weeks since cleanser samples don’t take too long.

7. Rimmel Kate Lipstick

Yes, the Rimmel lipstick has returned into this project pan from my Products to Use Up in 2017 challenge. I think I’ve used this lipstick all of one time this entire year, so this really needs some work before the end of the year. The last thing I want is to be stuck wearing this and only this for months because I didn’t make enough progress with it early on.

8. ELF Foil Packet Duo

I’m throwing in this foil packet because I know it will never get used otherwise, but I’m counting it as one product. This duo came with a recent ELF order and it has their face primer on one side and an eye cream on the other. Even though these are single packets, don’t let it fool you into thinking this is an easy win! These have at least 10 or 12 uses on each side easily.

9. Fierce Flicks Eyeliner

I would really like to finish up an eyeliner since I already have a couple of backups and one to purchase in mind. I’m choosing this Ciate London one because it’s the one I’ve already been using for a while.

10. Skin & Co Truffle Toner

I really like this toner, and I want to make sure I use up the whole thing instead of letting it sit in my drawer half empty for months and months because I’m “saving it” (does anyone else do this?! You fall in love with a product and then let it go bad because you don’t want to go through the withdrawl of using it up…I’m a mess).

11. Beauty Protector Hair Oil

This is another sample that is going to sit in my drawer forever if I don’t use it up. I have a couple of leave in conditioner type products that need some love, but I’ve been neglecting them because I have so much hair oil to use up.

12. Ultra Repair Cream Sample

I’ve used this sample five or six times, and it may look like a small container that will be easy to use, but this moisturizer is THICK and you really only need the smallest amount of this to cover your entire face. I’ve had this tube for a long time and I just recently got another sample of this in an ipsy, so this needs to go! (If I’m being honest, this really isn’t an ideal product for summer since it’s such a heavy moisturizer, but I’m going to try to resist using other things and power through).

13. Japanese Cherry Blossom Hand Soap

This isn’t makeup or beauty related, but I really want to get this used up and out of my bathroom! I’m REALLY not a fan of this scent from Bath & Body Works, and I don’t like the formula of this soap range either. This isn’t quite halfway done, so I don’t know how realistic this is to think I’ll finish it in 4 months, but I sure am going to try.

14. Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer

I’m really not the biggest fan of this primer, and this is another product that I’m going to have a hard time with because of how long it takes to actually use up one of these. eyeshadow primers in general usually take me at least a year if not two to get through, so this is definitely ambitious to include in the project, but I want it gone!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I included in this next project pan, and I hope you’ll stick around to see my updates and see how many of these items I’m able to finish up by September 22nd! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and thank you for your constant love and support on all of my posts! I’ll talk to you real soon!!!

Ipsy Unboxing – June 2017

Welcome back to my monthly ipsy unboxing! I’ve got June’s bag for you here today, and I’m super excited that this is my 12th ipsy unboxing on my blog!! I’ve been doing these posts for an entire year now! I hope you guys have enjoyed this series as much as I’ve enjoyed doing it every month, and thank you so much for liking and commenting every month. You guys are the best! ❤

This month’s theme is Volume Up and the bag is a tan and black color block with a giant pair of red lips on it. I love the polka dots, and I think this would be so much cuter without the lips so I’m a little disappointed that they’re on here.

NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle

The first product this month is from NYX and I got the shade “Pink Cloud”. I’m pretty sure this is a full size, which pretty much covers the whole cost of the bag right there. Unfortunately, this is such a crazy bright pink color that I’m never going to use it, and I’m going to have to pass this on.

Skyn Iceland Glacial Face Wash with White Willow Bark

I got a sample cleanser here, and I’m feeling good about this one. I’m usually pretty fast at using up these little cleanser samples (and this sample is teeny), so I’m sure I’ll have my thoughts in an empties post pretty soon.

City Color Cosmetics Bold Brow Eyebrow Powder “Medium”

I got an eyebrow duo from City Color Cosmetics in the shade medium. I’m really liking the colors, and I think this will match my brows nicely. This was a win for me this month!

Doucce Maxlash Mascara

I love getting mascara samples in subscription boxes, so I was pretty excited to see this little guy in my bag! The full size of this is $22, so this is more in the range of a high-end mascara. I’m really digging the wand and it kind of reminds me of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish “What’s a Budget?”

I got another full size nail polish from Trust Fund Beauty. These retail for $15, so it already makes up for the price of the bag!! I really like their formulas, but I’m not super sold on the color because I do typically stick to reds and pinks on my nails. I’m definitely willing to try it out, but I’m not really pumped about this one.

Overall, this month’s bag was kind of a flop for me unfortunately. I’ll definitely use the mascara and the cleanser, but the brow duo and the nail polish are kind of meh, and I can’t use the NYX lipstick.

What did you get in this month’s ipsy bag? Do we have any of the same products? Let me know in a comment down below! Thank you so so much for stopping by today, and I’ll see you real soon!

My Top 5 Blushes

Hello lovelies and welcome back to my Top 5 series!! Today we’re talking about my favorite makeup item to buy: blushes!! I own more blush than any other beauty product, and I’m super picky about colors and formulas. I have super pale skin so none of these are crazy bright colors, but they’re all super gorgeous natural colors for the every day girl! Let’s get into all of the beautiful blushes!!

5. Physicians Formula Butter Blush “Plum Rose”

This is a more recent buy for me, and I’ve been loving this blush (mostly for the incredible coconut scent let’s be honest). This is super buttery and creamy, and I love the color. I’m planning on doing a whole review post of this soon, so be sure to follow my blog so you don’t miss it!
4. ColourPop “Between the Sheets”

This is one of the products that I’m trying to use up in 2017 so I’ve gotten a ton of use out of this blush so I can honestly say that this is an awesome product. This is more of a cream formula (which is why this is number 4 and not number 1 because I don’t love cream products). I like to put this on right after foundation and then powder my face to sheer out the color a little bit. This really does stay on all day and I’ll totally be buying another ColourPop blush when this one is done.
3. DLS “Kitty Pink”

I got this blush in an ipsy bag, and I freaking love it! It is so crazy pigmented and gives such a nice peachy glow to my cheeks. I’d never heard of the Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics brand before I got this sample, but I would love to check them out and repurchase because I love the color of this product.
2. Too Faced “Baby Love”

If you’ve seen my Too Faced “Baby Love” vs. Tarte “Exposed” – Blush Review  then you’ll know that I love this blush to death! This gives such a natural flush to the cheeks with the slightest bit of glow. I love how creamy the powder is, and this is truly one of the best blushes at Sephora!
1. Tarte “Exposed”

My number one favorite blush of all time is Tarte’s Exposed!! This is a much drier formula, but the color is just so flattering and stunning on my skintone. I’ll repurchase this blush over and over for the rest of my life because it is seriously the perfect color for me (and for a TON of other people because this is such a huge best seller and is super flattering on so many skintones).

I hope you enjoyed seeing my top 5 blushes! What is your favorite blush of all time? Let me know in a comment down below! If you’ve missed any of my top 5 series, I’ve done eyelinersbrow productsface powdersfoundations, and mascaras so be sure you go check out all of the other posts! Haul UPDATE – What Worked and What DIDN’T – May Elf, L’Oreal + More Haul

Today I’m updating you on my ELF, L’Oréal + More HAUL! I love these types of videos on YouTube that tell you whether everything worked out and what was actually worth the money and worth buying again, so I thought I would incorporate this idea into my blog and post a follow up to my most recent haul. I’m so excited to try this out, so let’s get into it!

L’Oreal Butterfly Sculpt Mascara

I love the concept of this mascara, and I love the idea of a sculpting mascara to top off your normal mascara and add some volume and definition. However, I was an idiot and got this in waterproof which is definitely not my favorite to remove at the end of the day, so I’ve only used this 4 or 5 times. I like it, and I would totally get it as a topper mascara in the normal formula.

L’Oreal Magic BB Cream

This is such an awesome product! I love the lightweight feel, and it matches my pale skin so perfectly. This also keeps me matte all day despite having crazy oily skin. I’ve tried this stuff out before and decided to pick it up again in my haul, and I’m glad I did! I forgot how awesome this stuff is.

L’Oreal Lumi Highlighter “Ice”

I’ve been really enjoying this highlighter for my super pale skin. This is very white when you actually apply it to the skin, and it can kind of create a grey cast to your cheekbones when first applied. This does melt into my skin and doesn’t look so icy and crazy after a few hours.

L’Oreal Infalliable Shadow “Amber Rush”

I LOVE THIS SHADOW! This is the most gorgeous, stunning, shimmery bronze copper color, and it adds such a beautiful pop to the eyes. I have a whole review post coming SOON on this guy, so stay tuned to hear more thoughts and see some swatches.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

These are my new holy grail makeup remover wipes! These take off my makeup super easily without having to pull or tug at my eyes, and I love the convenience factor of keeping these at my bedside for when I’m feeling too lazy to get up and wash my face before bed. I’m planning on buying these over and over again.

Wet n Wild Shadow “Brulee”

I love this shadow so much! This is a staple in my makeup collection, and I use this all the time when I have a palette that doesn’t include this shade. I love this for an all over base under shadow / to set my eyeshadow primer, and I love this as a browbone highlight.

ELF Lip Exfoliator “Coconut”

This is another new holy grail product in my collection! Putting a lip scrub into a lipstick tube form was such an awesome idea, and it makes it so so so convenient to scrub my lips before lipstick because I can use it alone; I don’t have to reach into a pot of scrub with my finger and use a toothbrush or my finger to scrub my lips.

ELF Selfie Ready Foundation Blurring Brush

I still haven’t had a chance to try out this foundation brush since I’ve been using my Covergirl foundation that looks better with a sponge and haven’t dipped back into my Revlon Colorstay Foundation yet.

ELF Eyebrow Duo Brush

I love this brush so much!!! This has changed the game for my brow routine, and it’s made everything so much easier and faster. I love having the brow brush and comb double sided instead of having to use two different brushes. I can do my brows in almost half the time now.

Do you like the idea of this series? I think it’s so fun to update you on my haul and tell you what was good and what wasn’t instead of just showing you a bunch of new stuff. Thank you so so much for checking out this post, and I’ll see you super soon in my next one!!
