I’m back with another YouTube Made Me Buy It post talking about all of the products that I bought because someone on YouTube recommended it! Today we’re going to be talking about skincare, makeup brushes, and tools. If you missed my other two YouTube Made Me Buy It posts, be sure to go check them out here on my blog! Let’s get into the items!
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Face Wash
I remember BeautyBaby44 talking about this product way back in the day (back when YouTubers were very first starting to be sponsored by companies) and EVERYONE was using this stuff! I jumped on the hype train and actually used this all throughout high school. I definitely wouldn’t buy it again (for a lot of reasons, mostly because it’s not very good and doesn’t do much for your skin) but it was alright at the time.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish
Rachhloves raved about this gel polish line when it first came out, and this product was on my wish list for a looooong time. I finally bought it, and while the nail polish itself was okay, the topcoat is pretty amazing (full review post right here!).
Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Toner
I bought this after watching ThriftThick mention it in her millionth empties video (which are some of my faves and you should totally check them out). I really liked it while I was using it, but I found out that it really doesn’t have the best ingredients in it, so I’m going to be switching to a less harmful chemical-y toner.
Tresseme Heat Protectant Spray
This is another product that EVERYONE on YouTube was talking about a few years ago. I used up a full bottle of this and then decided that heat protectant doesn’t make that much of a difference on my hair, so I definitely wouldn’t buy this again.
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer
I bought this because EleventhGorgeous raved about it when it first came out, and I actually really like this moisturizer during the summertime. (This is my hubby’s favorite face lotion of all time, too!)
Brushes and Tools
Beauty Blender Sponge
I’m pretty sure everyone and their mother bought this after YouTubers started using it all the time. I’ve repurchased a million of these little sponges, and they truly are the best for applying makeup.
Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser
Along with the sponge, I bought the solid cleanser that they market to clean the sponge with. While I think this is super overpriced for a bar of soap, I really did clean my Beauty Blender a lot more often when I had this sitting out on my counter.
ELF Blending Face Brush
This is a more recent find that KathleenLights mentioned on her channel, and I absolutely ADORE this brush for blending my foundation. At first, I thought it would be way too fluffly (because I was comparing it to the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush which is much more dense), but this blends so effortlessly and beautifully.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Still to this day on YouTube, any kind of foundation review will either use this brush or the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki brush (which I’ve considered buying half a dozen times throughout the years). This brush is SO popular, and I loved it for a really long time (until I found my ELF Blending Face brush).
Real Techniques Eyeshadow Brush Set
This is another set of brushes that everyone uses! I use two brushes out of the set every single day on my eyes (it would be three, but one of the brushes broke and I haven’t been able to justify buying a whole new set yet) and these are amazing brushes! I love how affordable they are, and I highly highly recommend them.
Real Techniques Blush Brush
This is another brush that I use every single day. This is still super popular on YouTube, and I’ve seen a lot of makeup collections where every single brush they own is high end, except for this one (if that doesn’t tell you how good it is, nothing will). This might be my favorite brush of all time.
