Monthly Archives: March 2017

March Beauty Favorites

I’m back with another installment in my monthly favorites series! I’ve got some products to share that I’ve been really obsessed with, and these are all things that I’ve been using every single day for weeks! Let’s get into the products.

Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit Lipstick “Rebel Rose”

This is one of my all time favorites, let alone a monthly favorite. This is hands down my favorite lipstick of all time after having used it for this month. I’m obsessed with the lasting power of this, I love the shade of it, and it isn’t even drying or uncomfortable to wear all day. I’m not going to go on and on about this here because this lipstick actually has its own separate review post, but just know that you NEED to run out and get this lipstick.

Manna Kadar Highlighter “Paradise”

I got this eyeshadow in one of my very last Birchboxes, and I actually had this set aside to declutter since I didn’t like it as a shadow or a blush. I decided that I would give it one last shot and try it out as a highlight before I gave it away, and I’m so glad that I did. This is such a beautiful highlighter shade! I absolutely love how much of a glow this gives to my cheeks, and I’m super glad I decided to keep it and try it out.

Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Blush “Kitty Pink”

I got this blush in my March Ipsy, and I’ve been OBSESSED with it. I’ve worn this blush every singe day since I got it, and it’s the most beautiful color for spring! This is probably one of my top 3 favorite blushes of all time.

Beau Gachis Tapered Blending Brush

This is another item from my March Ipsy bag, and this brush is incredible for highlighter. This adds so much concentrated product because of the size of the brush, so it really makes my cheeks shine. This brush is so soft too, which makes me really want to check out this brand and see what else they have to offer.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

I know that in the past I’ve sworn that I would never buy a high end eyeliner, but that was before I tried this little guy. I got this as a 100 point perk from Sephora, and I think I might just be in love. This makes winged eyeliner SO EASY.

I hope you enjoyed hearing all about the products I’ve been loving this month! Let me know in a comment down below if you’d like me to feature any of these products in their own separate review post, and thank you so much for stopping by! I’ll see you next time!

Products I’ve Used Up – March Empties!

I’m back with another empties post for you today! These are some of my favorite posts, and I love finishing up makeup and beauty products to show you guys at the end of the month. Let’s get into everything I finished so I can tell you if I would repurchase them or not!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation

This was one of the products in my Finish 7 By Summer Project Pan Challenge, and I’m super happy that I have my collection down to only one foundation now! I’m going to keep using my Revlon Colorstay foundation until I finish up the powder that I use with it, and then I’ll let myself purchase this Covergirl foundation again.

Skyn Iceland Eye Cream

This was another product in my Finish 7 By Summer Project Pan Challenge, and I’m so relieved to have this product gone! I didn’t dislike this, but I felt like it really didn’t do anything for me. It was nice to have the little bit of extra moisturization on my eye area during the winter, but this isn’t something that I would purchase.

Bath & Body Works Foaming Hand Wash “Sunlight and Apple Trees”

I finished the last of my Bath & Body Works foaming hand wash, and I really loved the apple scent of this! I wouldn’t repurchase because I’m buying more natural products now, so I won’t be buying Bath & Body Works hand soap anymore. However, this is an awesome product if you are into Bath & Body Works fragrances.

Lasting Smiles Peppermint Creme Lip Balm

This lip balm was in both my Finish 7 By Summer Project Pan and my Products to Use Up in 2017  challenges. I was able to power through this and while I was happy to have it finished up, I have actually missed this product over the last couple of weeks.

Too Faced Hangover RX Primer Sample

I finally finished up the last couple of uses that were left in my Too Faced Hangover RX face primer sample. While this is still my favorite high end primer, I found that my skin is a little bit too oily to use this primer during the spring.

Maybelline Shine Free Loose Powder

I finished another jar of my Maybelline powder, and you already know how much I love this stuff. I already have another one purchased and in use right now.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I finished up a full can of my Batiste dry shampoo, and I’ll definitely be repurchasing this one. I’ve tried almost every scent that they make, and I would say the blush is probably my favorite of all of them (maybe tied for first with cherry).

Eva NYC Dry Conditioning Spray

I absolutely love this product, and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere to buy the full size! This really smooths my hair on frizzy or messy hair days, and I love the scent of this. I’m going to keep digging around to find it because I really do want the full size and I’ve been missing it since I used it up.

Golden Pear and Brown Sugar Shower Gel

This was one of the products in my Products to Use Up in 2017  challenge, and I was able to finish this a lot quicker than I usually do (probably due to the fact that I’ve been using this as a shaving cream as well as a body wash). I really liked the scent of this, and I would definitely repurchase this scent next fall.

Bath & Body Works Winter Candle

I really didn’t love the scent of this candle once it started filling my room with scent. I found this too be too musky for my taste, and I won’t be buying this scent again.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing another month of empty products and hearing my thoughts and reviews on everything I’ve used up this month! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you soon!

Products that are NOT Worth the Hype – Smashbox, Too Faced, NYX + More!

Today I’m going to be talking about makeup that I bought because everyone said they were awesome, but they ended up not being so awesome. These are things that got tons of hype when they were released, but I wasn’t too impressed when I actually tried them. (Of course these are all just my personal opinion and I’m not here to offend anyone. Also, all of these images are from Google since I’ve decluttered most of these items from my collection). Let’s get into the products!

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara

It’s been a few years since this mascara came out, but it was all the rage back in the day. Everyone was scooping this mascara up and raving about how good it was. When I tried it for myself, I found that this was the most smudging mascara I’ve ever used. This was all over my face within an hour of wearing it. I know there’s a lot of new Maybelline mascaras that have launched since this one, but take my word for it and skip this product.

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation and Powder

This is another product that hasn’t been super hyped in a few years, but I still hear people talking about this from time to time. I absolutely hated the Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous line. Both the foundation and the powder were awful on me! I have the world’s most oily skin, and this melted off my face faster than any other foundation I’ve ever tried.

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer

This primer was HUGE when it came out. There was not a single person who didn’t run out and buy this claiming that it was a dupe for Benefit’s Porefessional primer. I found that this was greasy and didn’t fill my pores or help keep my makeup on longer.

Smashbox Primer Water

I didn’t hate this primer, but I definitely don’t think this does anything for your makeup. While the whole idea of a spray on primer is super cool, this honestly doesn’t do anything. To me, it’s literally just water in a bottle.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Everyone still raves about this mascara, and I just don’t understand why. While it does definitely add length and volume to your lashes, there are so many other high end (and drugstore) mascaras that do so much more than this. I recommend picking up either the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara, the L’oreal Original Carbon Black mascara, L’oreal Miss Manga mascara, or the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara instead.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil

I really hated this brow pencil. This is supposed to be a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil, but it’s no where close. This pencil is so much dryer than the Anastasia pencil (to the point where it almost ripped out your brow hairs while you apply it).

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation

As an oily skinned girl, I had high expectations for this matte foundation. Unfortunately, this was super oily on my skin. I really wanted this to work for me because I love L’Oréal, but unfortunately it didn’t (which sucks because everyone talks about this all the time).

These are my top overrated products! Have you tried anything on my list? Did you have a different experience than me? Let me know in a comment down below! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, and I’ll see you nextg time!

Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Lipstick Review

Spoiler alert for the review: I’m absolutely head over heels in love with this lipstick. I like it so much that I actually decided that it needed its very own review post so I can rave about it in paragraphs. If this post doesn’t convince you to spend the $4.99 on this lipstick, I don’t know what will, so let’s get into it!

To start off with the basics, I picked this up at Target for $4.99 after hearing several different YouTubers raving about it. I got the shade “Rebel Rose” (because it’s the one Jessica Braun wears and I adore her YouTube channel) and upon first application, it was a lot deeper of a color than I was anticipating.

The first time I wore this, I had it on for about 2 hours just to test out if it gave me the dry crusty looking lips or the “butthole lips” and I was very excited that it didn’t! While this does show the vertical lines on my lips, it doesn’t emphasize them like a lot of other liquid lipsticks tend to do (looking at you NYX Lip Lingerie).

I wore this lipstick again the following day for about 4 hours when we went over to my in-law’s for dinner. We got done eating and I was SHOCKED when I looked in the mirror and the lipstick hadn’t worn off AT ALL during the meal!! It still felt comfortable on my lips but hadn’t budged through talking, laughing, eating, and drinking. It passed the test and it was time to wear it to work.

The first day I wore this to work it was only on for about another 4 hours because I had a burger for lunch that day and with all of the grease, the lipstick wore off. But the incredible thing about it was how gracefully it wore off. This didn’t smudge or give me a lip line where any normal lipstick would have clung to the rim of my lips. This lipstick faded so gracefully that it looked like I hadn’t even been wearing any lipstick at all. For me, I would MUCH rather have a lipstick fade this way than cling to my lips and look patchy.

I wore this lipstick to work for 8 HOURS today. I wore it all through lunch and drinking out of a straw all day long. This still looked just as good when I went home as it had when I applied it that morning (and I may or may not have taken a 2 hour nap bringing the total wear time to almost 12 hours by the time I removed the lipstick).

To sum it up, this is an incredible liquid lipstick at an even more incredible price. I’m going to buy more colors asap (and probably a backup of this shade) because I’m just absolutely SHOCKED at how good this is. If you want to see this lipstick in action, go check out Tati’s review on YouTube to see just how long this lasts (and how shocked everyone was when she told them it was a $5 lipstick from Wet n Wild).

Thank you guys so much for stopping by my blog today!! Let me know in a comment down below if you’ve tried these lipsticks and what you think of them. As always, I’ll see you next time!

Anti-Haul #2 – MORE Products I’m Not Going To Buy

I’m back with another anti-haul today! (If you missed the first one, definitely go check it out right right here! It’s one of my most popular posts!) Today I’m talking about super hyped up and popular makeup that I’m not going to spend my money on.

Drugstore Blushes

I’ve purchased SO MANY drugstore blushes over the years, and I’ve eventually ended up decluttering every single one of them. I get better quality, less patchy, and longer lasting products purchasing from brands like Tarte and Too Faced, so I would rather save the money for them by passing up on drugstore blushes.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

If you saw my first Anti-Haul post, you’ll remember me mentioning that I won’t be buying the Naked 3 palette because I dont like pinky, rose gold, red, orange, or any other warm toned shadow (peach included) on me. So not buying the Peach Palette is kind of a no-brainer for me. While Too Faced definitely has my favorite eye shadow formula, not being attracted to over half of the shades is a pretty big turn off for this product (although the Sweet Peach blush they released is gorgeous, so I might actually end up getting something from their peach line after all 😉 ).

Smashbox Primers

I’ve used up entire deluxe sized samples of the Smashbox Primer Water, Primer Oil, and Photo Finish Primer. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like any of them did anything to help extend the lasting power of my foundation. I have pretty oily skin, so if I’m going to take the time to do the extra step of applying primer, I need it to actually do something for my makeup. None of these Smashbox primers do anything for me, so I won’t be buying them.

“Mega” Palettes (Tartiest PRO and Too Faced Natural Love)

Both Tarte and Too Faced recently came out with these huge neutral palettes, and although Tarte and Too Faced are my favorite brands, I’m not going to buy any of these huge palettes. They’re too big to store and they often don’t have as good of quality as the smaller palette (plus they’re hard to travel with and sometimes I get overwhelmed by having so many shades to choose from in the mornings. Also, they’re neutrals and we all know that I don’t need another neutral palette).

Red Lipsticks

I’ve probably purchased over 20 different red lipsticks over the last 5 or 6 years. At one point I had a whole drawer in my makeup collection dedicated to all of the red lipsticks, lip glosses, liquid lipsticks, lip liners, and tinted lip balms that I owned. I now have one red lipstick and one red tinted balm, and I’m not going to buy any more red lip products. Why? Because I almost NEVER wear them!! I would say on average I wear a red lip two times a year. So why on earth do I need to keep buying red lip products to try to find the “holy-grail red lip formula”?! I’m not going to buy any more red lipsticks until I use up the one I have.

Drugstore Foundations

Okay, so technically my two holy-grail foundations (and really the only foundations I buy anymore) are from Revlon and Covergirl, so let me rephrase this to “I’m not going to buy any drugstore foundations just to test them out”. I used to buy foundations LIKE CRAZY to find the perfect formula for my skin. And guess what? I’ve found the formulations and foundations that works for me! So I’m going to quit while I’m ahead and not buy any more drugstore foundations just to test them out and see how they work for me. I need to be satisfied with what I know works.

Brow Pencils

This has nothing against brow pencils, but I just prefer a tinted brow gel or a pomade instead of a brow pencil. I find that they take a long time to get a precise application, and they tug at my brow hairs which is super uncomfortable. I’m not going to buy anymore brow pencils (no matter how tempted I might be by the Brow Wiz).

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! What are some products that you aren’t going to buy? Let me know in a comment down below, and I’ll see you next time!

*i think it goes without saying (since I’m not going to buy any of these products) but none of these photos are my own. All credit goes to google images/whoever took it and uploaded it to google*

March Ipsy Unboxing (Best One Yet?!)

I’ve got another ipsy unboxing for you today! I’m super excited about my March ipsy, and I gasped out loud when I saw the sneak peek for some of these products. This might just be the best ipsy bag I’ve gotten in a while! Let’s get into this month’s samples.

The theme of this month is Tres Jolie which is french for “very pretty”. The bag for March is this beautiful dusty rose color. I actually love this months bag, and I love that it’s an XL version of the typical bag when you unfold it (but am I the only one that feels like this should have been the February bag because it’s way more Valentine’s Day looking than the denim one we got?!).

Beau Gachis Tapered Blending Brush

I always get super excited when I get makeup brushes in subscription boxes, and I think this brush will be the perfect size to use for highlighter! It’s super soft and I’m already loving it after only using it once!

Chella Eyebrow Highlighter Pencil “Ivory Lace”

This is probably an item that I won’t end up using myself, but I’m still excited to try it out. I don’t typically like these kind of brow highlight pencils, but I’ll definitely give it a go and see if it helps me get that sharp defined “Instagram brow” look that’s super popular right now.

Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Blush “Kitty Pink”

Blush is one of my favorite samples to receive, and this color looks like it’s a super beautiful natural pink color. It’s as if a dusty mauve blush met a pinky coral blush and this blush is the perfect combo of both. This is just slightly different from anything else that I have in my collection, and I’m really loving it!

Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint “Rosè”

I was so excited to see a Tarte liquid lipstick in this month’s bag! I haven’t tried this product before, and I loved all three of the colors that this came in this month (nude, rosy pink, and deep red). I was super excited to get the nude, and I’m even more excited to test it out!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer

I absolutely love this moisturizer! This is one of my all time favorites, and I actually still have a travel sized tube of this from a 2015 ipsy bag that I haven’t entirely used up yet. I’m super excited to have a new one of these!

I hope you enjoyed seeing everything I got in my March ipsy!! I loved this months bag, and I’m so excited to use everything!! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time!

Ulta + Target HAUL – March 2017

Today I have an Ulta and Target haul for you! I bought some of the items that I’ve had on my Spring Wishlist for a while as well as a few things that I really wanted to try out!! These two trips were a week apart, so there were a couple of things that I ended up returning and exchanging for a few different things. Without further ado, let’s get into the haul!

Essence Make Me Brow

This brow gel has been rumored to be a dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow (which I love) and I’ve found that it really is pretty similar. I’ve found that this formula is a little bit wetter than the Gimme Brow (which I haven’t figured out if I like or hate about this product). I think it’s close enough to be worth paying $4 instead of $20+ for a tinted brow gel.

Essence Lash Princess Mascara

I’ve been using this mascara every day since I bought it (about 2 weeks now) and I’ve been liking it quite a bit! It’s not my favorite drugstore mascara, but it’s a very good one (not to mention it’s $3-$6 cheaper than most drugstore mascaras). I’ve noticed that this smudges and leaves little black marks where my lashes touch my undereyes and brow bones (which is one of my biggest pet peeves!) so I probably won’t buy this one again.

Rimmel Concealer

I’ve been loving this concealer the last couple of weeks! It’s very high coverage and really highlights my undereyes. I think that it’s even better than my Maybelline Dream Lumi concealer, and I’m super excited about that because this comes with even more product than the Maybelline one!

NYX Lip Lingerie “Lace Detail”

This was an impulse buy for me, and I ended up returning it. I really liked the color, and the formula was seriously like velvet silk on my lips when I applied it. I really liked the way that it looked for about the first half hour on my lips, but wearing it any longer was kind of a nightmare. It made my lips look super cracked and gross! (and no, I don’t have dry lips and yes, I do scrub my lips with a sugar scrub before I apply this). I really wished that this had worked for me because I loved the color, but I’m not into the whole “butthole lips” look.

Too Faced Hangover RX Primer

This was another item that has been on my wishlist since before Christmas! I ended up returning this product because it made my foundation oily looking by the end of the day. I think I missed the window on this product, because I really liked it during the winter, but now that it’s starting to get warmer and my skin is getting oiler, this just doesn’t work for me anymore.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I’m lumping these three together because I talk about them all the time. These are my holy grail foundations and powder (If you want to hear me talk all about them, go check out my Products I ALWAYS RepurchaseRide or Die Makeup Tag, and Revlon Colorstay Foundation Review (Combination/Oily Formula) posts).

Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Polish “Pinky Swear”

I have absolutely been loving my Wet n Wild gel polish in the shade “Stay Classy”, so I decided to pick up another color. This one is in the shade “Pinky Swear” and it’s a beautiful light pale pink color.

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor “Sand”

This was an item from my Spring Wishlist that Jessica Braun on YouTube made me buy! This shade is the most beautiful natural color on her, and I’m really hoping that it’ll work on me!

Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit “Rebel Rose”

This is another item that Jessica Braun mentioned and recommended, so I went ahead and scooped it up! I’m super excited to try this product out as well.

I hope you guys enjoyed seeing this little haul today! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog, and I’ll see you next time!
